HumanCar, Inc., is an industrial design firm based in Oregon.
HumanCar® Inc. has special knowledge in the field of full-bodied
exercise-enabled power generation and tranportation sytems. This
includes, but is not limited to, electrical and mechanical interfaces
proven with thousands of volunteer-hours of succesful testing.
Superior high-performance light-weight vehicle systems have been
engineered, constructed and succesfully tested.
HUMANCAR PLACES AUTO INDUSTRY ON NOTICE WITH NEW 700LB. ELECTRIC HYBRID VEHICLE -
IMAGINE PS - THE WORLD’S FIRST BIONIC PHEV
“It’s also a mobile power station to charge electronics, pump/puify water, almost anything you can
imagine”
DEEP FOREST OREGON - March 4, 2010 - The much anticipated and highly publicized part electric,
part ‘human-bionic’ powered HumanCar Imagine PS is now going “hyper-viral”. This innovative vehicle,
“is just a teaspoon in an ocean of practical product lined up for 2010” says Chuck Greenwood CEO of
HumanCar Inc. “The Imagine PS proves itself as a quick, efficient, fun and practical alternative to the
current methods which are not only obsolete but involve heavy ‘true costs’ such as resource dependence
and poor health.”
Street-legal off highway, able to be plugged-in to any outlet for recharge and importantly, “ The ability
to send charge back to the grid as a ‘side-line’ UPS, vehicle to grid or V2G functionality is built into all
Imagine PS cars. We need to be considering charging all these vehicles and maintaining an infrastructure.
In theory, a considerable charge bank is available.”
The company is unique in the way it has handled itself in the media and presented notions of societal
change with technology such as the “SyncGuideway” a future-based ultra light rail which HumanCars
(and others) may fit on to and be powered by.
Several products are in place from HumanCar, a small two person all electric car dubbed the HOTTI™
and a home generator unit called the DUET GEN™ both are “ designed to disrupt and displace multiple
markets.” The company has stated it will continue it’s current plan of manufacturing limited numbers
of ‘clones’ to the current Imagine PS advanced prototype for leasing and public appearances. It is expected
to make a formal announcement with the DUET GEN later this month.
Africa and 7th Graders: “To place a vehicle that saves lives in the hands of people actually saving lives is
part of the very first wave of units.”
Another significant project the company is involved with is an effort to simultaneously manufacture a
utilitarian version of it’s current FM4 model blended with lower tech versions of the current electronics
from the Imagine PS. This new project would provide a model created from recycled plastics which
can create power and be nearly indestructible to be utilized by both third world countries (eg Doctors
Without Borders) and interestingly enough, “elementary and junior high students, as this is the germinating
point for the hungry young minds, we know this from the volume of emails from 7th graders,
well researched, fascinated and willing to apply. We are not going to let either of these groups down.”
Says Mr. Greenwood, “KIds step up to us and say, that’s my car. I get it. They are incredibly up to speed
with the implications for society and know full well their parents 4,000lb car is a boat anchor. It’s that
direct.”

A Hand-Cranked Hybrid Car
Melissa Hincha-Ownby, 08.18.10, 06:00 PM EDT
The HumanCar Imagine PS uses hand cranks to generate power.
The next big thing in hybrid vehicles may not come from the likes
of Toyota or General Motors. Instead, it may come from Charles
Samuel Greenwood. Greenwood has been working on a humanpowered
vehicle concept for decades, and all of his hard work is
coming together in the form of the HumanCar Imagine PS. The
vehicle seats four and generates power through a system of hand
cranks. Yes, hand cranks.
One might think that a hand-cranked vehicle would be marketable
only as a neighborhood vehicle with a limited top speed. However,
the HumanCar has surprising potential--a top speed of 30 mph going
uphill and 60 mph on a flat surface. All of this can be achieved
via human power and nothing else.
Automotive technology is central to the design of the HumanCar -- that and street racing. The HumanCar originated from street racing of the 1950's in Sacramento CA. Handcrafting one of the first tube steel rail-style dragsters, the founders of HumanCar, entered into unknown mechanical territory. This was a natural extension from generations of revolutionary design and inventions. The founders of the HumanCar built some of the fastest cars of that era. |
